The Inspectorate of Government—a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA)—has reaffirmed its strong and long-standing partnership with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) in promoting transparency, accountability, and the protection of public resources.

The reaffirmation was made by the Inspector General of Government, Naluzze Aisha Batala, during a courtesy visit by the Executive Director of PPDA, Benson Turamye, at the headquarters of the Inspectorate of Government. Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala commended the effective collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the referral and joint handling of procurement-related cases, noting that such cooperation has significantly contributed to safeguarding public funds.

She emphasized the importance of continued institutional coordination and engagement in the execution of their respective mandates, underscoring that strong partnerships among accountability institutions remain central to promoting good governance and public trust.

During the meeting, Canon Turamye congratulated Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala on her appointment as Inspector General of Government, and also congratulated the Deputy Inspectors General of Government, Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe and Patricia Achan Okiria, on their reappointment. He reaffirmed PPDA’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Inspectorate of Government and other accountability institutions to ensure value for money and strengthen public confidence in public procurement systems.

Both institutions agreed to further enhance their partnership through continued case referrals, joint public awareness and sensitization initiatives, and improved coordination to advance transparency and accountability in public procurement processes.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Inspectorate of Government, including the Director of Special Investigations, Mr. Polly Muhairwe; the Director of Ombudsman Affairs, Mr. Kakooza Savio Ntensibe; the Director of Anti-Corruption, Mr. Lugoloobi Robert; and the Manager for Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations, Hajjat Munira Ali, among others. The PPDA delegation comprised senior officials responsible for performance monitoring, human resources, legal and board affairs, strategy, and executive coordination.

The engagement reflects the Inspectorate of Government’s continued commitment—consistent with the principles and best practices promoted by OICOA—to strengthening institutional cooperation, protecting public resources, and reinforcing integrity, transparency, and accountability in public administration.
