The Hon’ble Federal Tax Ombudsman and Secretary General OICOA, Zafar-ul-Haq Hijazi, engaged with members of the business community during an outreach session held at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), underscoring the importance of taxpayers’ rights and accessible grievance redress mechanisms.

Addressing participants, Mr. Hijazi highlighted the role of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) in providing swift, cost-free resolution of tax-related complaints. He emphasized that the institution serves as an independent forum to protect taxpayers against maladministration and procedural injustices within tax authorities.

The outreach session focused on raising awareness about the complaint process, jurisdiction of the FTO, and the importance of transparency and accountability in tax administration. Members of the business community were encouraged to utilize the Ombudsman’s platform to seek fair and timely remedies in cases of undue delays, harassment, or administrative irregularities.

The interaction reaffirmed the FTO’s continued commitment to fairness, transparency, and strengthening trust between taxpayers and tax authorities through effective oversight and institutional support.
