Karachi — On the instructions of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Sohail Ahmed Rajput, inspection teams from the Ombudsman’s Office have completed a series of field visits to key public service institutions and development projects, reaffirming the office’s commitment to accountability, improved service delivery, and citizen-focused governance.

Acting on the Ombudsman’s directives, the team inspected the District Headquarters (DHQ) / Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas, reviewing the availability of medicines, medical equipment, patient care facilities, and administrative responsiveness. The inspection aimed to identify systemic gaps affecting healthcare delivery and to ensure that issues raised by citizens are promptly addressed.

The team also carried out a detailed inspection of Central Jail Mirpurkhas, assessing prison conditions, security arrangements, rehabilitation programs, and the protection of inmates’ legal rights. The visit focused on identifying areas for administrative improvement and ensuring compliance with standards of humane treatment and legal oversight.

In Jacobabad, the inspection team reviewed the ongoing road construction project, evaluating the pace and quality of work, adherence to engineering and safety standards, and the effectiveness of monitoring by relevant authorities. Directions were issued to ensure timely completion, transparency in execution, and public benefit from infrastructure investments.

Following the visits, Mr. Sohail Ahmed Rajput emphasized the proactive oversight role of the Sindh Ombudsman’s Office and underscored that timely grievance redressal and institutional accountability are central to good governance.

These field inspections, ordered and overseen by the Sindh Ombudsman, demonstrate the institution’s active engagement in monitoring public sector performance, strengthening governance systems, and fostering public trust in provincial administration.
