Karachi — The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Transparency International Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting good governance, transparency, and the provision of free and speedy justice to citizens. The signing ceremony was held at the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by Justice (R) Zia Pervaiz, Chairman of Transparency International Pakistan, accompanied by a delegation including Prof. Dr. Uzma Shujaat, Member of the Board of Trustees; Mr. Kashif Ali, Executive Director; and Ms. Saira Bano, Communication and Partnership Manager.
Provincial Ombudsman Mr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput briefed the delegation on the institution’s mission, objectives, and operational framework. He shared that the Ombudsman’s Office is developing a modern complaint management system that will allow citizens to track their complaints online, with cases instantly directed to the concerned officers for resolution.
Mr. Rajput described the partnership with Transparency International Pakistan as a milestone step toward strengthening accountability and promoting citizen trust in public institutions.
“Collaboration with a reputable organization like Transparency International Pakistan will be instrumental in improving governance and enhancing transparency in Sindh,” he stated.
Transparency International Pakistan Chairman Justice (R) Zia Pervaiz commended the Ombudsman’s efforts, noting that the institution plays an important role in addressing citizens’ grievances against government departments.
“This partnership will further strengthen public confidence and facilitate access to justice,” he added.
Following the remarks, Mr. Rajput and Justice (R) Zia Pervaiz formally signed the MoU. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mansoor Abbas Rizvi, Secretary; Mr. Masood Ishrat, Registrar; Mr. Imdad Hussain Siddiqui, Director Coordination; Mr. Akmal Naseem, IT Consultant; and other senior officials of the Ombudsman Secretariat.
