Lahore – Radio Pakistan Lahore hosted an awareness seminar today aimed at fostering a secure, respectful, and harassment-free workplace for women.
The event featured Lubna Ali, Regional Head of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment in Lahore, as the chief guest. In her keynote address, she emphasized that workplace harassment is a critical issue and reaffirmed that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees security, dignity, and respect for all individuals.
“Every citizen, regardless of gender, has the right to raise their voice against harassment without fear or discrimination,” she stated.
The seminar covered key areas such as workplace harassment challenges, the Anti-Harassment Act, institutional responsibilities, inquiry protocols, and penalties for violations. It aimed to equip participants with legal knowledge and tools to prevent and address workplace misconduct.
Station Director of Radio Pakistan Lahore, Dr. Ahmer Sohail Basra, welcomed the attendees and reiterated the organization’s zero-tolerance policy on workplace harassment. He called for greater awareness across society and highlighted the need to ensure gender equality in all professional environments.
The initiative is part of Radio Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive and safe workspaces, particularly for women in media and public service.
