The Ombudsperson Punjab, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, continues to strengthen advocacy and institutional efforts aimed at ensuring safe and inclusive educational environments for women.
In this regard, Dr. Najma Afzal Khan addressed an important event held at Government College University Faisalabad, where she emphasized the urgent need to strengthen protection mechanisms against harassment within educational institutions across Punjab.
During her address, the Ombudsperson strongly advocated for the activation and effective functioning of Anti-Harassment Committees in universities and colleges to ensure safer academic environments for female students, faculty members, and staff.
She also stressed the importance of prominently displaying Codes of Conduct within educational institutions to enhance awareness, encourage compliance, and reinforce institutional accountability regarding workplace and campus harassment policies.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, Dr. Najma Afzal underscored that awareness, accountability, and practical action must work together to eliminate harassment and promote dignity and respect within academic spaces.
