The Provincial Ombudsperson Secretariat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, and the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening democratic governance, institutional accountability, parliamentary oversight, and protection of citizens’ rights across the province.

The agreement represents one of the most significant institutional collaborations between legislative and accountability institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, establishing a formal framework for cooperation in areas including legislative support, policy engagement, public awareness, institutional capacity-building, gender-responsive governance, and accessible grievance redress mechanisms.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting transparency and rule of law, enhancing public trust in governance, and advancing constitutional values through coordinated institutional engagement.
Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly support parliamentary committees and forums, facilitate policy dialogue, and organize trainings, workshops, and technical sessions for Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs), parliamentary staff, and other relevant stakeholders.
The collaboration will place particular emphasis on issues related to women’s rights, child protection, workplace safety, prevention of harassment, administrative justice, and improving institutional responsiveness to citizens’ concerns.
The agreement also recognizes the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy, institutional coordination, and inclusive governance in addressing emerging public sector challenges and ensuring that state institutions remain transparent, accessible, accountable, and citizen-centered.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Provincial Ombudsperson Secretariat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa toward promoting administrative justice, good governance, human rights protection, and stronger democratic institutions through collaborative engagement and institutional reform.
