Kampala — 8 October 2025:
His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in the exercise of his constitutional powers, has appointed Hon. Lady Justice Naluze Aisha Batala as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG) of the Republic of Uganda. She succeeds Hon. Beti Kamya Turwomwe, who previously held the position.

According to the official statement issued by the Inspectorate of Government, the President has also retained the two Deputy Inspectors General of Government, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, in their current positions.

In line with constitutional requirements, the names of the appointees have been forwarded to Parliament for vetting and approval.

The Inspectorate of Government (IG) extended its congratulations to Hon. Lady Justice Naluze Aisha Batala on her appointment and commended the two Deputy Inspectors General on their reappointment, reaffirming confidence in their leadership and institutional continuity.

“The Inspectorate remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding good governance, integrity, and accountability in public service,” the statement read.

The appointment of Justice Batala marks a significant step in strengthening Uganda’s anti-corruption and governance framework, reinforcing the Inspectorate’s mission to ensure transparency, ethical conduct, and justice in the public sector.
