Governor Punjab Meets Ombudsperson to Strengthen Workplace Protection for Women
The Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, held a special meeting with the Ombudsperson Punjab, Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, to discuss key challenges faced by women in contemporary workplaces and to explore measures for ensuring their protection against harassment.

The Office of the Ombudsperson Punjab, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), plays a vital role in addressing complaints related to workplace harassment and promoting a safe and equitable working environment.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a detailed discussion on the social and institutional challenges faced by women, particularly in professional settings. The dialogue emphasized the importance of strengthening mechanisms for prevention, protection, and redress of harassment cases.
The Governor and the Ombudsperson reaffirmed their commitment to the effective implementation of anti-harassment laws and policies, with a focus on creating a secure, respectful, and inclusive environment for women across all sectors.
The engagement reflects the ongoing efforts of Punjab’s leadership to enhance legal protections, promote gender equality, and ensure that workplaces uphold the dignity and rights of women.
This initiative aligns with OICOA’s mission to support member institutions in advancing justice, accountability, and the protection of fundamental rights.
