The Ombudsperson Punjab, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, continues to strengthen efforts aimed at promoting women’s safety, dignity, and legal protection within educational institutions.
In this regard, Ombudsperson Punjab, Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Higher Education Commission Pakistan.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on enhancing the implementation of women protection laws across higher education institutions and strengthening institutional mechanisms to ensure safe and respectful learning environments.
The HEC Chairperson reaffirmed his commitment to women’s safety and legal protection, emphasizing the importance of collective institutional responsibility in preventing harassment and violence.
The discussions also focused on practical collaboration to reinforce awareness, accountability, and effective implementation of legal safeguards designed to protect women in educational spaces.
The Ombudsperson Punjab reiterated that every woman deserves a life free from harassment and violence, stressing that coordinated institutional action remains essential to transforming policies into meaningful protection.
The meeting reflects the continued commitment of both institutions toward advancing gender justice, strengthening legal protections, and promoting a culture of dignity, safety, and equality within Pakistan’s educational sector.
