Baku — The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, held a meeting with Sevil Gulmaliyeva and Nuray Huseynli, the Ombudsman representatives for Baku State University (BSU), as well as students from the university’s High Academician and International Relations programs.

During the meeting, Ombudsman Aliyeva highlighted the broad opportunities created for young people in Azerbaijan across various fields, enabling them to develop professionally and contribute meaningfully to the country’s sustainable development. She emphasized that youth empowerment, innovation, and knowledge-building remain key priorities of her institution’s activities.
Ombudsman Aliyeva also provided insights into the Constitutional Law on the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), relevant national legislation, and international human rights conventions ratified by Azerbaijan. She encouraged students to strengthen their legal knowledge by using the law literature and publications available at the Ombudsman Office library.

Emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in scientific research, social initiatives, and community activities, the Ombudsman urged students to take an active role in shaping the future of human rights protection in the country. She wished them success in their academic and professional pursuits.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude for the guidance and support provided by the Ombudsman.
