Rawalpindi – The Office of the Provincial Ombudsman Punjab has reaffirmed its commitment to providing citizens with quick and cost-free redressal of grievances related to maladministration in government departments.

During an interaction on Wednesday, Advisers to the Provincial Ombudsman Punjab, Rana Akbar Hayat and Muhammad Ehsan Tufail, stated that complaints regarding unnecessary delays, negligence, corruption, and misconduct in Punjab Government offices are being handled with urgency and efficiency.

The advisers, based at the Regional Office Rawalpindi, noted that the complaint resolution timeframe has been reduced from 90 days to just 30–45 days, ensuring faster relief for the public. Citizens are kept informed about the status of their cases through SMS and email updates, removing the need for repeated office visits, except for joint hearings.

They emphasized that all services are free of charge and require no lawyer or legal fee. Complaints can be filed in Urdu or English, both by local and overseas Pakistanis, via the mobile application, official website, post, or in person. Applicants may also download free certified copies of decisions once cases are resolved.

For filing, citizens only need to provide a simple written application along with their name, address, phone number, CNIC copy, and affidavit. Contact details of all regional offices are available on the Ombudsman Punjab’s official website and mobile app.

However, officials clarified that the office cannot entertain cases already under trial in courts or those on which judicial verdicts have been delivered.

Citizens may also call the 24/7 helpline 1050 for guidance, information, or registration of complaints.
