SAKARYA — Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye and President of the OIC Ombudsman Association (OICOA), Mr. Mehmet Akarca, accompanied by Public Ombudsmen Mr. Ertunç Erkan Balta and Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, and Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Doğan, met with citizens in Sakarya within the scope of the public outreach programme “Ombudsman Meets Sakaryans.”

In his remarks, Mr. Akarca underlined that the Public Ombudsman Institution is a constitutional body affiliated with the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, functioning as an independent and effective grievance mechanism. He noted that the Institution examines administrative acts and procedures and evaluates them in terms of legality, fairness, and the overall sense of justice, with the objective of protecting rights, eliminating injustice, and strengthening good governance.
The programme was attended by Sakarya Governor Mr. Rahmi Doğan, who also addressed participants and emphasized the importance of constructive engagement between citizens and public institutions.

During the session, Mr. Akarca and the Public Ombudsmen listened directly to citizens’ complaints, requests, and suggestions, reflecting the Institution’s commitment to accessibility and responsive public service.
