Mediator of Côte d’Ivoire Hosts Students for Educational Visit to Promote Civic Awareness

The Regional Delegation of the Mediator of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), welcomed 70 students from the Alassane Ouattara school group for an educational visit in Dimbokro on 30 March 2026.

The visit was organized as part of the Civic Action Week of the Regional Directorate of National Education (DRENET), aiming to strengthen civic awareness and promote understanding of public institutions among young citizens.

During the immersion visit, students were introduced to the core missions of the Mediator of the Republic, including facilitating dialogue between citizens and public administration, preventing conflicts, and promoting social cohesion and peace.

The initiative provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the role of mediation institutions in fostering good governance and protecting citizens’ rights.

On the occasion, the Regional Mediator encouraged students, particularly those in the fourth grade, to adopt responsible civic behavior and embody the values of citizenship and republican principles. He emphasized that the future of Côte d’Ivoire depends on the commitment and active participation of its youth in building a harmonious and inclusive society.

This initiative reflects the Mediator of Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to promoting civic education and raising awareness among future generations, in line with OICOA’s mission to strengthen transparency, accountability, and public engagement across its member institutions.
