Mr. Şerif Yılmaz, elected as Public Ombudsman by the Joint Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, formally assumed office following a handover ceremony held at the Public Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye.
Mr. Yılmaz took over the position from Mr. Sadettin Kalkan, whose term of office had concluded. The ceremony was attended by the Chief Public Ombudsman, Mr. Mehmet Akarca, along with Public Ombudsmen Mr. Ertunç Erkan Balta, Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, and Mr. Özcan Yıldız. The Secretary General of the Institution, Mr. Mehmet Doğan, was also present.
On behalf of the Public Ombudsman Institution, congratulations were extended to Mr. Şerif Yılmaz on his election, with best wishes for success in the fulfillment of his duties. Appreciation was also expressed to Mr. Sadettin Kalkan for his dedicated service and valuable contributions during his tenure as Public Ombudsman.
The ceremony underscored the Institution’s commitment to continuity, institutional stability, and the effective promotion of good governance and the protection of citizens’ rights.
