Islamabad: Interim Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), Ms. Noureen Bano Lehri, met with Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace (FOSPAH), Ms. Fauzia Viqar, to discuss strengthening institutional collaboration aimed at advancing women’s empowerment, safety, and access to justice.

The meeting focused on enhancing coordination between NCSW’s policy advocacy and FOSPAH’s mandate to enforce workplace harassment laws, with both institutions exploring ways to improve the protection of women’s rights through complementary institutional efforts.

Discussions placed particular emphasis on expanding women’s access to justice, reinforcing mechanisms for addressing workplace harassment, and promoting a safer and more inclusive environment for women across public and private sector workplaces.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to closer institutional cooperation, recognizing that coordinated policy development and effective legal enforcement are essential to strengthening safeguards for women and advancing gender equality in Pakistan.
