Amman — A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco visited the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Authority (IACA) of Jordan as part of a tour aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries and reviewing Jordan’s mechanisms for promoting integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption reforms.

The Moroccan delegation was headed by His Excellency Abdellatif Ouahbi, Minister of Justice of Morocco, and included His Excellency Fouad Akhrif, Ambassador of Morocco to Jordan, and Mr. Hicham Malati, Director of Criminal Affairs at the Moroccan Ministry of Justice.
Jordanian–Moroccan Partnership in Integrity and Good Governance
Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Authority, expressed appreciation for the strong and historic ties between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Morocco. He underscored that the relationship is deep-rooted, supported by the close bonds between the two monarchies, and reinforced through continuous cooperation across public administration institutions.
“This visit reflects our shared determination to deepen coordination in the fight against corruption, to strengthen integrity in governance, and to adopt preventive measures that stop corruption before it begins,” Dr. Hijazi stated.
He highlighted the Authority’s proactive role in setting preventive standards, promoting ethical conduct in public administration, and aligning with regional and international anti-corruption frameworks.
Moroccan Perspective on Cooperation
In his remarks, Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome in Jordan and praised the prospects of partnership between the two sister nations.

“We are friends and brothers, therefore we are strong. Jordan is part of us, and we are part of it,” he said, emphasizing Morocco’s commitment to intensify collaboration on transparency, governance, and combating corruption.
He also outlined Morocco’s national efforts to counter corruption, tackle misinformation, and strengthen public trust in institutions.
Presentation on Jordan’s National Integrity Initiatives
During the visit, Dr. Asim Al-Jadou, Director of Institutional Development at IACA, presented an overview of the Authority’s legal powers and its mandate under the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Act. He detailed the National Integrity Index, which evaluates public administration institutions against national integrity standards.
The index’s second term (2024–2025) targets 119 governmental entities, including ministries, districts, independent bodies, public universities, and university hospitals. Updates made to the index were shared with the Moroccan delegation, emphasizing its role in promoting accountability and strengthening governance performance.
The presentation was attended by Vice President Sami Al-Salayta, Board Members Dr. Saad Al-Shahab and Nasser Al-Qadi, Media Adviser Omar Abanda, Director of International Cooperation Islam Ba’ena, and Nizar Harabsha, Director of the Media and Communications Unit at the Ministry of Justice.
