Abidjan – As part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup celebrations, the Mediator of the Republic, Mr. Gaoussou TOURÉ, participated on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in the official opening ceremony of the “World Village”, an initiative by Radio Côte d’Ivoire to provide citizens with a space for sharing and communal experience around the world’s biggest football event.
During the ceremony, Mr. TOURÉ lauded the initiative, highlighting the role of sport as a powerful lever for social cohesion, fraternity, and national unity. He emphasized that football goes beyond its sporting dimension, serving as a platform to bring people closer, foster dialogue, and strengthen citizen engagement.
