The Mediator Institution of the Kingdom of Morocco, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, participated in a scientific seminar held at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Beni Mellal on 15 May 2026 under the theme: “Administrative Communication: Media and the Challenge of Trust.”
The seminar was organized by the Laboratory of Literary, Linguistic and Didactic Studies and the Master of Excellence in Journalism and Media at Sultan Moulay Sulaiman University, in partnership with the Mediator Institution of the Kingdom and in coordination with the Moroccan Journal of Public Policy and Ibn Khaldoun Libraries, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.
The event brought together academics, researchers, media professionals, public administration experts, and institutional representatives to discuss the role of administrative communication in strengthening trust between citizens and public institutions, improving governance, and enhancing the quality of public services.
In his remarks, Khaled Mahdi emphasized the importance of opening universities to contemporary societal issues, particularly those related to modernization of public administration and improvement of citizen-oriented services.
The seminar also featured interventions from Hassan Tariq, who addressed the topic of institutional mediation and communication between administration and citizens, highlighting governance challenges and the importance of strengthening institutional trust.
In addition, sociologist and academic Aisha Bal-Arabi discussed the relationship between communication, media, governance, and public trust within state institutions.
Discussions throughout the seminar focused on administrative communication, institutional media, digital transformation, access to information, institutional mediation, and modernization of public administration systems.
Participants emphasized that effective administrative communication has become an essential element in improving the relationship between citizens and institutions, promoting transparency, strengthening governance, and enhancing public confidence in state services, particularly in the context of rapid digital and institutional transformation.
The event also included the honoring of Mrs. Aisha Bal-Arabi in recognition of her academic, intellectual, and professional contributions in the fields of sociological research, writing, diplomacy, and public affairs.
The two-day seminar reflects the continued commitment of the Mediator Institution of the Kingdom toward promoting good governance, institutional dialogue, citizen engagement, and modern public administration practices.
