CÔTE D’IVOIRE — Wednesday, 4 February 2026: In the context of strengthening collaboration between regional delegations of the Mediator of the Republic, the Mediator Delegate of the Tchologo Region invited his counterpart from the Poro Region to a working meeting with the General Management of the Sucrerie d’Afrique de Côte d’Ivoire (SUCAF-CI).

During the meeting, the two Mediator Delegates presented the mandate of the Mediator of the Republic, including its missions, access procedures, and areas of competence, while emphasizing the institution’s role in supporting dialogue, preventing disputes, and facilitating peaceful settlement of grievances. The Delegates also commended SUCAF-CI’s civic engagement, particularly its role in supporting social stability during the 2018 local tensions that affected parts of the Poro region.
For its part, SUCAF-CI’s Director General welcomed the initiative and noted that the session enabled company staff to better understand the role and responsibilities of the Mediator of the Republic. He further emphasized that SUCAF-CI maintains internal mechanisms to manage disputes and address grievances in a timely manner, with the objective of safeguarding the stability of the company and the well-being of its workforce.
