The Chairman of the Administrative Oversight Board, Mr. Abdullah Qaderbouh, accompanied by a senior delegation, is participating in the Sixteenth Session of the Implementation Review Group and the Working Group on Asset Recovery and International Cooperation under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). The meetings are being held at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna from September 1–5, 2025.

A major focus of the agenda is Chapter V of the Convention on Asset Recovery, with participants examining best practices for the return of illicit assets and promoting stronger frameworks for international cooperation.

Mr. Qaderbouh reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring Libya’s active participation in UNCAC processes, stressing that collaboration with international partners is essential for promoting transparency, preventing corruption, and building effective governance systems.

He further noted that engagement in these global forums enables Libya to share experiences, adopt best practices, and strengthen national anti-corruption frameworks, thereby supporting efforts toward sustainable development, good governance, and the rule of law.

The Administrative Oversight Board has consistently maintained an international presence in UNCAC-related meetings, reflecting its belief in the importance of global cooperation to confront corruption and recover stolen assets.
