The Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, Mr. Hazem Abdel-Salam Majali, received the Board of the Jordanian Journalists Association at the Commission’s headquarters.

During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Commission and the Jordanian Journalists Association in support of the values of integrity and transparency. The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing community awareness regarding the importance of combating corruption, protecting public funds, and reinforcing the role of the media in addressing corruption practices and highlighting their impact on society.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President of the Jordanian Journalists Association, Mr. Tariq Al-Momani, together with members of the Association’s Board, congratulated Mr. Majali on the occasion of the Royal Decree appointing him as Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, wishing him success in carrying out his national responsibilities.

The Commission emphasized the importance of disseminating information and promoting transparency as effective tools in limiting the spread of misinformation. It also highlighted ongoing efforts to implement programs under the National Integrity Strategy 2026–2030, aimed at building a society founded on integrity and good governance.

The Commission further noted its work in promoting integrity within public institutions through awareness programs and risk assessment studies conducted across institutions and ministries, contributing to the identification of strengths and challenges and supporting preventive approaches to governance.

For his part, Mr. Al-Momani underscored the importance of the Commission’s role in strengthening public confidence in state institutions and highlighted the value of partnership with the media in promoting awareness and reinforcing the principles of integrity and transparency. He also proposed the development of a memorandum of understanding between the Commission and the Association, including workshops and awareness programs for journalists in the fields of integrity and anti-corruption.

The meeting was attended by Vice President of the Jordanian Journalists Association Mr. Auni Al-Dawood and members of the Association’s Board.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing cooperation in support of the national interest and in strengthening values, principles, and good governance.
