IGG Uganda Renews Partnership with Nation Media Group to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) of Uganda, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), has renewed its partnership with Nation Media Group Uganda (NMG-U) to enhance efforts in the fight against corruption.

The renewed collaboration aims to strengthen public awareness, promote transparency, and reinforce accountability within the public sector through strategic media engagement.

Speaking during the engagement, the Inspector General of Government, Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala, commended NMG-U for its continued coverage of IGG activities, emphasizing the critical role of the media in shaping national development and promoting integrity.

She noted that the partnership will significantly boost visibility of the IGG’s anti-corruption initiatives and encourage greater citizen participation in combating corruption.

The Deputy Inspector General of Government also highlighted the importance of responsible and solution-oriented journalism, urging the media to maintain balanced and accurate reporting to support the anti-corruption agenda.

Representatives from NMG-U expressed their commitment to the partnership, noting the availability of various media platforms that can be utilized to amplify the IGG’s mandate. They emphasized the need to develop a structured implementation plan outlining commitments, timelines, and strategic focus areas.

The partnership is expected to enhance the credibility of IGG Uganda’s work, support awareness campaigns, and strengthen efforts to recover stolen public resources while promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively to advance anti-corruption initiatives and improve public service delivery.

This collaboration reflects IGG Uganda’s continued dedication to fostering integrity, engaging stakeholders, and strengthening governance systems, in line with OICOA’s mission to promote transparency and accountability among its member institutions.
