Kampala, Uganda – The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has directed disciplinary action against two officials of Mbulamuti Town Council following the disappearance of Shs27 million in locally collected revenue.
According to Ms. Twinomugisha, the missing funds were part of revenue generated from the sale of lock-up spaces around Mbulamuti Market. Records indicate that Shs56 million was collected from private developers as application fees, yet the two officials only remitted Shs29 million, leaving a balance unaccounted for.
The IGG’s directive seeks to ensure accountability and restore public trust in local government revenue management. Investigations into the suspected financial mismanagement are ongoing, with further administrative and legal action expected.
