Luzira, The Inspector General of Government (IGG) addressed senior cadet prisons officers at the Prisons Training School in Luzira, delivering a lecture on “Public Financing, Accountability, and the Role of the IGG.”

In her remarks, the IGG emphasized that integrity is non-negotiable for all future leaders in Uganda’s public service. She highlighted that transparency fosters public trust while patriotism must remain the guiding principle in serving the nation.

The IGG cautioned that without accountability, governance systems risk collapse. She explained that accountability is not only about compliance but also about ensuring the efficient and effective use of public resources for the benefit of citizens.

The session aimed to instill values of honesty, responsibility, and patriotism among Uganda’s next generation of correctional leaders, reinforcing their crucial role in upholding integrity in public service.
