Jordan Appoints Hazem Al-Majali as Chairman of Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has announced a leadership transition at the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, an institution aligned with the principles of transparency and accountability upheld by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA).

According to an official statement issued on 8 April 2026, the Royal Will approved the resignation of Dr. Muhannad Ali Ibrahim Hijazi from his position as Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Royal decision also appointed Mr. Hazem Abdulsalam Abbas Al-Majali as the new Chairman of the Commission, effective immediately, to serve for the remainder of the current term.

On this occasion, Dr. Hijazi expressed his sincere appreciation to the staff of the Commission for their dedication and contributions during his tenure. He commended their efforts in promoting integrity and fostering a society guided by ethical values and transparency.

Dr. Hijazi also encouraged the team to continue their commitment to professionalism, integrity, and public service, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the institution’s mission in combating corruption and strengthening governance.

The appointment of Mr. Al-Majali reflects Jordan’s continued commitment to reinforcing its anti-corruption framework and advancing the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

This development aligns with OICOA’s mission to support member institutions in promoting integrity and strengthening mechanisms to combat corruption across member states.
