Continuing his official visit to the city of Zliten—following the reopening of the Authority’s branch in the municipality and inspections of local councils, health and educational institutions, and infrastructure—the President of the Administrative Oversight Board, Mr. Abdullah Qaderbouh, convened an extensive follow-up meeting at the Authority’s headquarters in Tripoli.

The meeting brought together members of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, directors of specialized departments within the Authority, representatives from the Ministry of Health, members of the Zliten Municipal Council, the Authority for the Development of Administrative Centers, and the general managers of the Housing and Transport Projects Implementation Units, as well as the Head of the Roads and Bridges Authority.
Discussions focused on priority files for the city, including solutions to the rising water crisis and proposals for compensating affected residents, progress on the Asmariya University compound, the implementation stages of key facilities in the Tuesday Market area, and updates on the city’s general development plan. The meeting also reviewed obstacles affecting the Kidney Center project, delays in completing the operations building and Building (H2) at Zliten Medical Center, and reasons behind the suspension of maintenance and development projects at the Sheikh Abdul Salam Al-Asmar complex.

Mr. Qaderbouh emphasized that the follow-up of Zliten’s development files is a top priority. He highlighted the Board’s commitment to establishing precise project timelines, deploying disciplinary and technical teams for on-ground monitoring, issuing periodic supervisory reports, coordinating with executive bodies to remove administrative and technical hurdles, reviewing contracts, ensuring contractor compliance, and proposing urgent compensation solutions for residents impacted by water-level increases.
The Secretary-General underscored the importance of strengthened coordination between oversight, executive, and legislative authorities to ensure efficient project delivery, reaffirming the Presidency’s support for all monitoring and technical procedures aimed at removing obstacles and accelerating progress. Members of the House of Representatives called for direct coordination to expedite stalled projects, while High Council of State members stressed the importance of field oversight and continuous follow-up to ensure quality implementation.
The meeting forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its supervisory role and ensure the timely completion of infrastructure and service projects in Zliten for the benefit of its citizens and the stability of the city.
