Mr. Gaoussou Touré was officially sworn in as the new Mediator of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, 9 April 2026, during a solemn ceremony held at the Presidency of the Republic.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Vice President, Mr. Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, representing the President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane Ouattara, and was presided over by Ms. Chantal Nanaba Camara.

The Office of the Mediator of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), plays a key role in fostering dialogue between citizens and public administration, resolving disputes, and promoting social cohesion.

Upon taking office, Mr. Touré expressed his commitment to strengthening communication and trust between the administration and citizens. He emphasized the importance of mediation as a tool for maintaining peace, promoting justice, and reinforcing national unity.

The appointment of Mr. Gaoussou Touré reflects Côte d’Ivoire’s continued dedication to enhancing governance, promoting transparency, and ensuring effective mechanisms for addressing citizens’ concerns.

This development aligns with OICOA’s mission to support member institutions in advancing good governance, accountability, and citizen-centered public service delivery.
