ISLAMABAD: Newly appointed Federal Tax Ombudsman M. Zafar-ul-Haq Hijazi visited the Head Office of the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH) in Islamabad on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, to strengthen coordination between ombudsman institutions.

Upon his arrival, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment Ms. Fauzia Viqar warmly welcomed the FTO and briefed him on FOSPAH’s mandate, institutional framework, and key achievements. She highlighted the office’s role in ensuring safe and harassment-free workplaces, providing fast, free, and sensitive justice, and building trust among women across public and private sector organizations.

During the meeting, Mr. Hijazi appreciated FOSPAH’s work and shared his vision for enhancing cooperation among constitutional and statutory institutions. He emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in improving service delivery, strengthening accountability, and ensuring effective redressal of public grievances.

The Federal Tax Ombudsman reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with fellow ombudspersons and other state institutions to promote good governance, institutional harmony, and citizen-centric justice mechanisms in Pakistan.

Both sides agreed that greater coordination among ombudsman offices would contribute to improved complaint handling, stronger preventive measures, and a more responsive system of public administration, ultimately benefiting citizens nationwide.
