Islamabad — The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH), a member institution of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), participated actively in the two-day 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, held on 12 and 13 July 2026 at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad.

On the margins of the conference, Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar held a series of productive engagements, including a notable interaction with the Executive Director of the OIC Women Development Organization (WDO), Counsellor Sarah Ismail Al Shoura. The meeting underscored continued cooperation between FOSPAH and OIC-affiliated bodies working on women’s rights.

Ms. Viqar also engaged in meaningful exchanges with several prominent parliamentary leaders and women’s rights advocates, including Ms. Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Ms. Saira Tarar, Ms. Nuzhat Sadiq, Ms. Saba Sadiq, Dr. Nafisa Shah, and Ms. Mehnaz Aziz. These interactions reflected FOSPAH’s continued commitment to institutional collaboration, policy dialogue, and regional networking on issues of women’s rights and workplace protection.

Throughout the two-day conference, FOSPAH officials operated a dedicated information desk at the Marketplace, where they engaged with local and international delegates, Excellencies, and other participants. The team shared detailed information about FOSPAH’s institutional mandate, using the opportunity to foster professional dialogue aimed at advancing gender justice and strengthening workplace protection mechanisms across OIC member states.

FOSPAH officials also engaged extensively with the core OIC Secretariat Women’s Team, along with representatives of various OIC institutions and delegates from member states. These engagements reinforced important institutional linkages and contributed to the collective dialogue on advancing the socio-economic and political rights of women across the Muslim world.
