Islamabad, 19 August 2026 — Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH), called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr and presented the Annual Report 2025 of the institution.

The President was informed that FOSPAH received 1,119 harassment complaints during 2024-25, of which 1,047 were decided. Additionally, 352 complaints relating to property deprivation were received, with 238 decided during the same period. The Report noted that complaint registration had increased by 375 percent compared to the previous year. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla was also present during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the President appreciated the role of FOSPAH in safeguarding individuals against workplace harassment and called for increased awareness initiatives about the services provided by the institution. He stressed the need to strengthen internal processes and monitoring mechanisms to ensure that complaints of workplace harassment are resolved promptly and efficiently. The President further emphasised that complaints should be examined fairly and on merit, with due process ensuring that genuine cases of harassment are addressed promptly while allegations are assessed carefully in accordance with the law.
