ISLAMABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) held a series of high-level meetings at the Federal Tax Ombudsman Secretariat, Islamabad, aimed at strengthening coordination with key stakeholders, improving tax administration, and enhancing public engagement.


In one meeting, Director General IT Zain ul Aabideen of the Federal Board of Revenue, along with his team, called on the Federal Tax Ombudsman to discuss matters of mutual interest, particularly relating to information technology and tax administration. Rashid Ibrahim also attended the meeting.


Separately, Ben Headon, Consul and Head of Administration at the Embassy of Ireland, met the Federal Tax Ombudsman and held discussions with advisors at the FTO Secretariat on tax-related matters and areas of cooperation.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Rawalpindi Tax Bar Association, led by Advocate Sheikh Faraz and comprising 10 office bearers, visited the FTO Secretariat to extend congratulations to the newly appointed Federal Tax Ombudsman. The delegation welcomed the FTO and discussed issues faced by tax professionals and the business community. The Federal Tax Ombudsman assured the delegation that tax grievances of the business community would be duly addressed and their rights protected.


In another key engagement, the Federal Tax Ombudsman held an introductory session with media representatives at the FTO Secretariat. During the session, the FTO briefed participants on the objectives of the Media Wing and emphasized the importance of close and constructive engagement with the media. He highlighted the role of responsible journalism in promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness, and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to open communication with media stakeholders.


These engagements reflect the Federal Tax Ombudsman’s focus on collaboration, transparency, and effective grievance redressal to strengthen public trust in tax administration and accountability mechanisms.
