The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, continues to advance efforts aimed at promoting gender-responsive justice, workplace dignity, and protection against harassment.
In this regard, Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment, held an important meeting with Chief Justice of Pakistan to discuss institutional cooperation and legal mechanisms for ensuring safe and inclusive workplaces.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening institutional responses to harassment complaints, enhancing implementation of workplace harassment laws, and promoting awareness regarding legal remedies available to victims.
The Federal Ombudsperson briefed the Chief Justice on the mandate and functions of her institution, highlighting ongoing efforts to ensure dignity, equality, and protection against harassment in both public and private sector organizations.
The meeting also deliberated on improving institutional coordination to support vulnerable and marginalized segments of society and reinforce effective complaint redress mechanisms.
According to the statement, the Chief Justice reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the constitutional principles of equality, dignity, and non-discrimination, while emphasizing the importance of accessible and gender-sensitive justice systems.
