Islamabad – The Executive Director of COMSATS, Ambassador Zakaria Nafees, received Honourable Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch at the COMSATS Secretariat to discuss enhancing institutional collaboration and advancing public service delivery through Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) cooperation.

During the meeting, the ED of COMSATS highlighted the organization’s ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting Member States through technology transfer, capacity building, and innovation-driven solutions. He noted that COMSATS has been actively contributing to sustainable development goals in its member countries, focusing on practical applications of science and technology in governance, energy, and environmental management.
Honourable Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch commended the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for its efficient service delivery, noting the integration of STI to enhance transparency, responsiveness, and citizen-centric governance. Recognizing the prevailing energy challenges in the country, he encouraged the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs), appreciating COMSATS’ leadership in offering EV-related technology transfer and promoting sustainable energy solutions among Member States.

Both sides agreed to strengthen institutional linkages, explore collaborative projects in emerging technologies, and share best practices in public service efficiency and citizen engagement. The discussion underscored the importance of STI-driven governance reforms as a tool for addressing national and regional challenges, including energy security, sustainable mobility, and smart public services.
The meeting concluded with mutual appreciation for continued cooperation and a shared commitment to leveraging science and technology for improved public welfare and sustainable development.
