AMMAN — The Chairman of Jordan’s Integrity and Anti-Corruption Authority and member institution of OICOA, Dr. Mohannad Hijazi, received a delegation from Syria’s Central Board for Monitoring and Inspection, headed by Chairman Amer Al-Ali, to review Jordan’s experience in combating corruption and promoting the values and culture of integrity.

Dr. Hijazi stated that the meeting aimed to exchange and transfer knowledge between the two institutions and to strengthen the foundations and frameworks for joint cooperation, emphasizing Jordan’s openness towards sister Syria. He noted that enhanced collaboration between the two bodies reflects the vision of the leadership of both countries and expressed hope that the visit would yield tangible outcomes in training and rehabilitation, experience-sharing, and structured cooperation initiatives.

For his part, Amer Al-Ali praised the efforts of Jordan’s leadership, government, and people in supporting Syria, stating that the visit comes within the context of advancing cooperation in the fields of transparency and anti-corruption, and benefiting from Jordan’s pioneering experience, including the transfer of institutional best practices.

During the meeting, Ms. Samia Abusharif, Head of the Central Bank’s Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Unit, presented the Unit’s experience and capabilities in information collection, evaluation and analysis of financial and non-financial data, and coordination of public policy implementation in line with the vision of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing.

The visiting delegation included Deputy Chairman Ahmed El-Shalash, Director of the High Institute for Monitoring and Inspection Ali Suleiman, Director of International Cooperation Mohamed Al-Atwi, Director of Training and Rehabilitation Zakaria Buls, Director of Public Relations and Communications Hisham Al-Khateeb, and Director of Information Tareq Al-Ghoush.

The meeting was attended by members of Jordan’s Integrity and Anti-Corruption Board, along with a number of directors who presented the mechanisms of their departments and the nature of their work.
