The Chief Public Ombudsman, Mehmet Akarca, paid a series of official visits to key committees of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, during which he presented the Public Ombudsman Institution’s 2025 Annual Report.
In this context, Mr. Akarca visited Ms. Derya Yanık, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, and formally submitted the Institution’s 2025 Annual Report outlining its activities, findings, and recommendations.

The Chief Public Ombudsman also met with Ms.Çiğdem Erdoğan, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Gender Equality, where he presented the 2025 Annual Report and exchanged views on the Institution’s work related to equality, rights protection, and complaint resolution.
Additionally, Mr. Akarca visited Ms. Sunay Karamık, Chair of the Petitions Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. During the meeting, he submitted the 2025 Annual Report and discussed areas of cooperation concerning citizens’ petitions and institutional oversight.
These engagements underscore the importance of sustained institutional cooperation between the Public Ombudsman Institution and parliamentary committees, and reflect the Institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the effective protection of citizens’ rights through parliamentary dialogue and oversight.
