The Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye, Mehmet Akarca, accompanied by the General Secretary, Mehmet Doğru, paid an official visit to Major General Recep Yalçınkaya, President of the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy.

During the visit, the delegation exchanged views with Major General Yalçınkaya on matters of mutual interest, particularly the role of institutional cooperation, good governance, and accountability within public institutions. Discussions also touched upon the importance of education and training in strengthening public service ethics, rule of law, and respect for citizens’ rights.

Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarca highlighted the significance of collaboration between oversight institutions and academic bodies in promoting awareness of ombudsman principles, transparency, and administrative justice. He emphasized that such engagements contribute to reinforcing a rights-based approach within security and public administration structures.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye and key national institutions, with a shared objective of fostering good governance, institutional integrity, and public trust.
