A special program was organized at the Public Audit Institution on 8 March to mark International Women’s Day.
As part of the event, the Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye and President of OICOA, Mr. Mehmet Akarca, celebrated International Women’s Day together with the female staff serving in the Institution.

The program was attended by Public Ombudsperson for Women’s Rights Ms. Fatma Benli Yalçın, Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, Mr. Şerif Yılmaz, Mr. Özcan Yıldız, and Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Doğan.
In his remarks, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca emphasized that the value accorded to women is one of the fundamental elements of Turkish civilization. He noted that Turkish society has a long-standing tradition of respecting and uplifting women, and highlighted the important place women hold in the country’s social, cultural, and public life. He also referred to the progress made in women’s participation in governance and public service, underlining the significance of legal and institutional safeguards for women’s rights.
Mr. Akarca further pointed out that the presence of a Public Ombudsperson responsible for Women’s Rights within the Institution reflects the importance attached to the protection and promotion of women’s rights.
In her speech, Public Ombudsperson for Women’s Rights Ms. Fatma Benli Yalçın congratulated the female staff of the Institution on International Women’s Day and thanked them for their dedication, contribution, and efforts in serving the organization.

The program served as a meaningful occasion to recognize the role of women in public service and to reaffirm the Institution’s commitment to dignity, equality, and respect for women.
