Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye Mr. Mehmet Akarca, accompanied by the delegation of the Ombudsman Institution, visited Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the European Union, in Brussels.
The visit took place ahead of the delegation’s participation in meetings at the European Parliament, held upon the invitation of the European Ombudsman, Ms. Teresa Anjinho.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed areas of cooperation between the Ombudsman Institution and European oversight bodies, as well as Türkiye’s ongoing engagement with EU institutions in promoting transparency, good governance, and effective protection of citizens’ rights.
The discussion also included the participation of Mr. Fahrettin Altun, President of the Turkey Human Rights and Equality Institution, who contributed insights on human rights protection and equality frameworks within Türkiye’s national architecture.
This high-level engagement reflects Türkiye’s strengthened presence in European institutional platforms and reinforces the commitment of the Ombudsman Institution to international collaboration and dialogue.
