AMASYA — Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca, Public Ombudsman Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, and Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Doğan Kamuan of the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye met with citizens during the “Ombudsman Meets Amasyans” program.

Addressing participants, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca emphasized the role of the Ombudsman Institution as an independent and effective complaints mechanism. He noted that the institution serves as the voice of citizens and operates as a constitutional body affiliated with the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
Mr. Akarca highlighted that the institution examines all types of actions and procedures of the administration through an approach grounded in justice and human rights. He further noted that citizens may submit applications free of charge through the institution’s official website and that applications are to be concluded within six months through a process designed to be accessible, transparent, and efficient.

As part of the program, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca, who also serves as President of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), together with Public Ombudsman Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, listened to citizens’ complaints, concerns, and requests.
The Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye, a member institution of OICOA, continues its efforts to strengthen engagement with citizens and promote accessible complaint resolution mechanisms.
