The Ombudsman of Bahrain, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, has affirmed the importance of the Royal Address delivered by Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in strengthening the principles of responsible citizenship, national unity, and the rule of law.

In a statement, Ghada Hameed Habib, Ombudsman of Bahrain and Head of the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission, stated that the Royal Address established a comprehensive vision of “responsible citizenship,” founded on balancing the duties of national belonging with respect for the law and institutional order.

She explained that the Royal Address represents a strategic roadmap for the next phase of national development, emphasizing firmly established sovereign principles, including safeguarding national security, protecting state achievements, upholding the rule of law, and preserving stability.

Her Excellency further noted that the emphasis placed by His Majesty on Bahrain’s sovereignty and independent national decision-making reflects a wise leadership vision centered on the enforcement of law and the delivery of swift justice as essential pillars for sustainable development and institutional stability.

She also highlighted that the distinction made between constitutionally guaranteed freedom of expression and actions that undermine the national interest presents a balanced framework that strengthens democratic values while preserving public order and social cohesion.

Concluding her remarks, the Ombudsman stressed that societal unity behind the leadership of His Majesty the King constitutes a strong national safeguard against challenges and reinforces Bahrain’s continued path toward development, progress, and institutional strength under the rule of law.

The statement reflects the continued commitment of the Bahrain Ombudsman Institution toward promoting justice, institutional integrity, human rights, and good governance principles.
