Azerbaijan Ombudsman Hosts Slovak Delegation to Strengthen Human Rights Cooperation
The Ombudsman of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, a Board Member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), hosted a delegation led by the Ombudsman of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Róbert Dobrovodský, during an official visit to Azerbaijan.

The visit, conducted at the invitation of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and exchange best practices in the field of human rights protection.
During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Mr. Zahid Oruj, Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament of Azerbaijan. The discussion focused on Azerbaijan’s commitment to safeguarding human rights and freedoms, highlighting the country’s ongoing reforms and initiatives in this area.
Participants emphasized the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, underscoring the value of regular high-level engagements in promoting cooperation and mutual understanding.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on institutional practices and reinforce collaboration between ombudsman institutions in addressing contemporary human rights challenges.
This engagement demonstrates Azerbaijan’s continued commitment to advancing human rights, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting dialogue, in line with OICOA’s mission to support good governance, accountability, and the protection of fundamental rights among its member institutions.
