Tripoli | Wednesday, September 24, 2025 — The Administrative Oversight Board, under the leadership of Chairman Abdullah Qaderbouh, held two high-level review meetings focused on strengthening financial discipline and ensuring accountability in vital state sectors.

In the first meeting, the Chairman met with the heads of committees monitoring the telecommunications sector to assess revenues, contracts, and overall sector performance. Discussions highlighted a recent decline in telecom revenues despite increased operational expenses, raising concerns over financial losses and inefficiencies. The meeting also reviewed the compliance of contracting procedures with existing legislation, and companies’ plans to overcome deficits. Qaderbouh emphasized the urgency of tightening monitoring mechanisms to safeguard public money, correct operational shortcomings, and improve the quality of services delivered to citizens.

In a separate session, the Chairman chaired a meeting with the National Committee on Final Accounts Closure, established under Decision No. (555) of 2025. The Committee presented its progress report, outlining completed work and pending tasks related to the closure of state accounts from 2009–2024. Stressing the importance of timely results, Qaderbouh called for intensified coordination among stakeholders to finalize the process in line with accounting standards and submit outcomes to the legislature.

Both meetings reaffirmed the Board’s strategic priority of enhancing transparency, protecting public resources, and ensuring efficiency in critical sectors of national importance.
