The Chairman of the Administrative Oversight Board, Mr. Abdullah Qaderbouh, convened a meeting with the President and members of the National Committee tasked with following up the closure of the State’s final accounts to assess progress, challenges, and next steps.

The session reviewed the Committee’s achievements to date, including ongoing efforts to collect financial data from government entities and address delays in submitting final accounts to the Ministry of Finance. Participants highlighted the need to resolve technical and logistical hurdles that have slowed progress.

Discussions focused on accelerating the submission of financial statements, strengthening peer-to-peer monitoring reports, and ensuring close oversight at each stage to meet the Committee’s objectives.

Mr. Qaderbouh emphasized the necessity of strict adherence to deadlines, stressing that timely and accurate account closures are essential to fulfilling the mandates of legislative authorities, protecting the public interest, and reinforcing transparency across state institutions.

This meeting was held under Decision No. (555) of 2025, which established the National Committee. It forms part of a series of ongoing consultations with relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective closure of State accounts, overcome obstacles, and achieve the desired outcomes in line with legislative requirements.
