Tripoli: The Head of Libya’s Administrative Control Authority met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Libya, Mr. Gofin Bejic, at the Authority’s headquarters in Tripoli to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in administrative oversight, governance, and anti-corruption.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the Authority and Türkiye’s oversight institutions through the proposed signing of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements. Discussions also covered the implementation of joint training programmes and the exchange of expertise aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and benefiting from Türkiye’s experience in governance, administrative reform, and digital transformation.
During the meeting, the Head of the Authority outlined the Authority’s ongoing efforts to implement the objectives of the National Strategy for Performance Oversight, Anti-Corruption and Prevention (2025–2030). He emphasized that promoting integrity, transparency, and the rule of law remains fundamental to fostering a stable investment climate and advancing Libya’s development and reconstruction agenda.
The two sides also reviewed matters concerning Turkish companies operating in Libya, particularly stalled projects and contractual commitments. They discussed mechanisms for resolving these issues in coordination with the relevant authorities to facilitate project completion in accordance with applicable legislation, while safeguarding the public interest and supporting sustainable development.
Concluding the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and expanding cooperation through continued exchange of expertise and institutional collaboration. They noted that strengthened partnership would enhance the effectiveness of supervisory institutions, reinforce anti-corruption efforts, and further deepen the longstanding relations between Libya and Türkiye.
