Kampala – Ms. Winnie Jeptum Bargoria, Head of Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Uganda, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala.

The visit marked an important step in strengthening institutional cooperation between the two bodies and reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing collective efforts in the prevention and elimination of corruption.
Discussions focused on exploring innovative and collaborative approaches to address the increasingly complex and evolving nature of corruption. Both institutions emphasized the need for enhanced coordination to effectively detect, prevent, and combat sophisticated corruption schemes.
Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening public awareness initiatives to highlight the social and economic impact of corruption, while promoting a stronger culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability within public institutions.The engagement further reinforced the IGG’s commitment to building broad-based partnerships in the fight against corruption. Through strengthened collaboration with key stakeholders such as UNODC, the IGG continues to advance its mandate of promoting good governance, improved public service delivery, and sustainable national development.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including the Deputy IGG, Dr. Okiria, Director of Research, Education and Advocacy, Mr. J. Gwaira, Manager Strategy, Policy and Planning, Mr. Joseph Pincywa, Manager Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations, Hajjat Munira Ali, and Mr. Muhammad Mwasa, Personal Assistant to the IGG.
