Lahore – July 31, 2025
The Office of the Ombudsperson Punjab, in collaboration with the University of Child Health Sciences, Lahore, organized a one-day seminar at the Sajji Maqbool Auditorium to raise awareness on the implementation of the HEC Policy on Protection Against Harassment in higher education institutions.

The event focused on sensitizing faculty, administrative staff, and students to the importance of creating safe, respectful, and inclusive campuses. It highlighted the legal framework, institutional responsibilities, and procedural mechanisms for reporting and redressing cases of harassment.

Speakers from both institutions emphasized the significance of empowering students and staff with knowledge of their rights, while ensuring that universities maintain an environment free from intimidation or abuse. The seminar also encouraged the establishment of Harassment Complaint Committees (HCCs) within academic institutions, as mandated by HEC and Punjab laws.

The initiative reflects the joint commitment of academic and legal institutions to uphold dignity, justice, and equal opportunity in educational settings. Participants engaged in interactive sessions aimed at clarifying procedures, busting myths, and sharing best practices to address harassment effectively.
