KARACHI – The Presidency in Islamabad has reviewed 24 appeals filed in 2025 against the rulings of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman (FIO), upholding 23 decisions and thereby reaffirming the Ombudsman’s credibility in delivering justice within Pakistan’s insurance sector.

Through these rulings, citizens secured financial relief of more than Rs. 50 million, a reflection of the Ombudsman’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and safeguarding the rights of policyholders.

Federal Insurance Ombudsman Mumtaz Ali Shah welcomed the development, calling it both an honor and a responsibility.

“Our mission is to provide every affected citizen with swift, free-of-cost, and impartial justice. We ensure the protection of victims’ rights by holding insurance companies accountable within the framework of the law,” he said.

Mr. Shah emphasized that the FIO offers an independent, neutral, and cost-free mechanism for resolving disputes against insurance companies, sparing citizens from lengthy legal procedures.

He added that the President of Pakistan is the final constitutional authority on appeals against Ombudsman decisions, and the overwhelming endorsement of FIO’s rulings strengthens public trust in the institution’s work.
