Algiers – July, 2025
On the sidelines of the 7th General Assembly of the Federation of African Anti-Corruption Agencies, a high-level bilateral meeting was held between Mr. Abdullah Qaderbouh, Chairman of Libya’s Administrative Oversight Board, and Mrs. Salima Masraty, Chairperson of Algeria’s Supreme Authority for Transparency and Prevention of Corruption.

The meeting took place in the capital of Algeria on Tuesday morning, with the participation of Mr. Saleh Hama, Ambassador of the State of Libya to the Republic of Algeria.

During the discussions, both sides explored ways to develop institutional cooperation, focusing on shared goals in audit oversight, anti-corruption efforts, and the prevention of administrative and financial crimes. The dialogue also addressed the importance of closing legal and procedural gaps that could enable corruption or mismanagement.

The two chairpersons emphasized the value of experience sharing, joint capacity building, and establishing stronger bilateral ties between Libya and Algeria’s respective oversight and transparency institutions.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the initiation of a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize future cooperation. The MoU is expected to outline mechanisms for knowledge exchange, collaborative investigations, and policy development in line with international standards.

This meeting reaffirms the mutual commitment of both countries to transparency, accountability, and strategic collaboration. It paves the way for the development of unified policies, frameworks, and joint initiatives to meet evolving challenges in combating corruption at the national and regional levels.
