Ombudsman of Indonesia Hosts Portland Ombudsman to Strengthen Public Service Oversight Collaboration
The Secretary General of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu, welcomed a delegation from the Portland Ombudsman Office at the Ombudsman RI Headquarters in Jakarta on 4 May 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening international cooperation and exchanging knowledge related to public service oversight, complaint handling, and governance practices. It also served as a preparatory engagement for the upcoming international seminar scheduled for 5–6 May 2026, which will bring together government institutions, local authorities, and academic representatives in Indonesia.
During the discussion, the Portland Ombudsman, representing the Portland City Auditor’s Office, shared insights into their role in receiving and resolving public complaints, conducting independent investigations, and issuing recommendations to improve public service delivery.
In response, the Ombudsman of Indonesia presented its institutional practices, including maladministration prevention strategies and oversight mechanisms aimed at enhancing service quality and accountability in public institutions.
The meeting highlighted the importance of international collaboration in strengthening oversight systems, promoting transparency, and improving citizen-centered service delivery.
This initiative reflects Indonesia’s commitment as a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA) to fostering global partnerships and advancing good governance through knowledge exchange and cooperation.
